San Francisco’s Richmond District in 1912 and Richmond in 2012.
The Richmond District was home to dairy farms, cemeteries and small businesses in the late 1800s. It wasn’t until after the 1906 earthquake that more settlers moved to the area after it had been set up as an emergency housing center.

Did you know the Richmond was renamed Park Presidio? However, the name did not stick, and the name Richmond resurfaced.
