With over a thousand friends on Facebook, it should come to no surprise that Stephany Joy Ashley has made our list. Among the nominations submitted on her behalf, a wealth of them added that she is quote, “Hot and amazing.” Though her beauty doesn’t even begin to grace the surface of just how awe-inspiring she truly is.

For starters, Stephany is the former president of the Harvey Milk Democratic Club (a fierce LGBT political group at the forefront of political campaigns, tirelessly lobbying for legislations to promote equality for queers in San Francisco and beyond). She currently serves on the board and has been a fearless contributor to their cause for over three years. Her tireless energy has inspired an awakening for justice, not just for the right to marry but all the issues facing the LGBT community today.

She also serves as the Programs Director at St. James Infirmary, a non-profit organization that provides free, confidential, non judgmental medical and social services for sex workers (current or former) of all genders and sexual orientations. An organization most of us may not have heard of but truly deserves a great deal of attention and support for all the wonderful work they do. On our visit with Stephany at the Infirmary, we learned that the rate of sexually transmitted disease amongst sex workers who visit St. James Infirmary have far lower rates than many of other clinics in the city. It’s a no brainer that their efforts on educating, counseling and general services at St. James Infirmary is something to admire and learn from. This February, Stephany was invited to speak at the World Health Organization in Switzerland to share the organizations efforts
