SALON
PRETTY PRETTY COLLECTIVE
(website)

With an overwhelming majority of votes for Pretty Pretty Collective, we had to find out what all the hoopla was about. Pretty Pretty Collective is so much more than just a salon offering haircuts and color. The place is a cultural hub of fashion and art hosting well attended openings and fashion shows adding a flavor to the salon all its own. Their passion for the arts and love of San Francisco shines bright, and it's no wonder beauty flourishes in this gorgeous salon. Hair appointments may be a little pricier than you're used to, but the experience will leave you feeling it was well worth it.

BARBER / STYLIST
BROWN AMY

The amazing DJ/nightlife producer and fantastic stylist Brown Amy takes the crown as best barber/stylist backed by many of her clients and fans. Have any of you noticed how stylish all the lesbians' haircuts have been lately? Well, we have Brown Amy to thank for that.

The Independent has proven to be one of the most eclectic live rooms in the city, hosting acts that span from the radio stars (Green Day, Black Eyed Peas) to the obscure (Amon Tobin, Kid Koala). This non-seated, general admission hangout offers you an opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with some of your favorite artists. If live music isn't enough, they often feature newly released movies for free on Monday nights, complete with a full service bar.
