ASTERISK SF BAR HOP
your guide to nights with no agenda.

BOOTY BASSMENT
@ Knockout

In its 9th year, Booty Bassment is the brainchild of DJ’s Ryan Poulsen and Dimitri Dickinson. The party started as a small event in San Francisco, and has now ballooned out to both ends of the coast; with parties in San Diego, San Francisco, and Portland. Clearly they’re doing it right, as evidenced by the wall-to-wall crowds every month at The Knockout of booty shaking rap and hip hop club kids.

FRINGE @ Madrone Art Bar
San Francisco's only Indie Rock Video Dance Party celebrated its first year last month with the promise of another year of electrifying music videos and dancing at Madrone Art Bar. Fringe is a dance party unlike any other. With guest DJ Blondie K & SubOctave playing the best of indie rock and electro pop, while featuring brand new videos from the "next big thing" in indie music every third Saturday of the month.

SWEATER FUNK @ Li Po Lounge

The ingredients for a perfect DJ night in the city are simple but rare: good music that isn’t overplayed in an environment that is appropriate to the tunes you hear blasting through the speakers. San Francisco’s insatiable children of the night will hunker down in the most surprising of venues for a club that is imbued with newness and authenticity. Two years strong is Sweater Funk; a weekly dance club featuring late 70s and 80s, soulful boogie in the dark and florescent hall of Chinatown’s Li-Po Lounge, and it continues to fit the bill: you’ll feel like you’re being transported to the coolest basement party on the block in 1983.
